Fauna Project

There was light drizzle at the beginning of a cool, mostly cloudy morning as nine volunteers participated in this week's survey. Some kinds of flies exhibit sexual dimorphism, as shown in the pair of flower flies pictured below. The male has larger, more closely spaced eyes than the female, while she has a larger abdomen to accommodate the eggs she will lay.
