Fauna Project

Our survey this time was on the Vernal Equinox, and our five volunteers enjoyed a cool and sunny morning. While some insects, such as the Falcate Orangetip and Cecropia Moth, appear only once a year due to their 12-month life cycle, others produce several shorter generations a year. One example of the latter is the Saltmarsh Moth shown below having just laid a batch of eggs.
