The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Fauna Project

The Dog Days of summer are here and we felt it. Five people participated in this survey. We missed the best sighting of all, which was a reported bobcat near the library building the previous evening. Two snakes, within five feet of each other, though, were certainly fascinating. We also witnessed an Olympic leap by the leopard frog just after we photographed it. Notable numbers of bumble bees show that these important pollinators are having a very good year.
