The Significance of the Third Of February

by Larry

Three generations ago this year, on 2/3/42, Julia and Leon were married. She was nineteen, he twenty-nine. It is ten years since we celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

In honor of Valentine's Day and the upcoming sixtieth anniversary of their wedding, I pay tribute to that union with pictures from their earliest days together and up to over a half-century later.

On behalf of your many children, in-laws, and grandchildren, congratulations, Mom, on your anniversary. Though, after Dad's passing, it must be now a sad occasion, we hope the love of so many who would not have been here or whom you would never have known but for that official joining, may help you feel some joy as well at this time of year.
