LARVALBUG LENS, April, 2014

Val recently took a trip to Florida to visit with her mother, Ev. The ladies snapped a "Good Morning" picture almost every day and sent it, via iPhone, to Larry in Texas. This was the installment for Apr. 11, 2014, where Val and Ev had dropped off their kayaks at the magnificent Juniper Springs in the Ocala National Forest. After a short car shuttle, they enjoyed a leisurely trip down the 7-mile spring run, recognized as one of the preeminent canoe trails in the U.S. The creek is mostly heavily forested and wildlife is abundant, including beautiful dragonflies, birds and alligators. At this time of year, there were 5-foot tall thistles blooming in the more open areas, and so the pair made a thistle-stop in order to photograph the impressive plants.
