LARVALBUG LENS, October, 2014

Our lens focuses for this issue on Julia in April, 1991, as she is trying out a new saddle and steed at the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village associated with Baylor University, in Waco, TX. Julia, at the time of the photo 68 and living with husband Leon in nearby McGregor, TX, for a few years was frequently entertaining audiences, especially young people, as the village storyteller. While her storytelling days there are over, she remains a participating member of the Heart of Texas (HOT) Storytelling Guild of Waco. Earlier this month (10/16), Julia turned 92. She is as yet active in volunteer organizations, hosting reunions for a large extended family, and leading classes in both water and chair aerobics.
